Đà Nẵng – Hội An

Đà Nẵng and Hội An sit side by side on Vietnam’s central coast and together make the region’s strongest base for larger, more structured gatherings. Đà Nẵng is a modern beach city with a major international airport and convention-scale resorts; Hội An, a short drive south, is a UNESCO-listed old town that lends an evening or a smaller retreat a real sense of place. The pairing lets one programme hold both the plenary and the atmosphere.

Why Đà Nẵng – Hội An works for a retreat

This is central Vietnam’s most capable conference coast. The beach strip between Đà Nẵng and Hội An carries resorts built for meetings at scale — large ballrooms, multiple breakout rooms and the room blocks a few-hundred-person offsite needs — which is why it is a frequent choice for corporate summits and customer conferences.

Hội An adds what a convention centre cannot: a lantern-lit old town, tailoring shops and riverside lanes that make an off-site evening memorable. A programme can run its serious business by the beach and give the group an evening in the old town without a long transfer.

Getting there

Đà Nẵng International Airport (DAD) sits inside the city, which keeps airport transfers short — a practical advantage when you are moving a large group. It is one of Vietnam’s three main gateways, with frequent domestic flights from Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City and a range of regional international routes.

Hội An lies roughly thirty kilometres south of the airport along the coast, so most programmes base either on the Đà Nẵng beach strip or near Hội An and treat the other as an easy outing rather than a second hotel.

When to go

The driest, steadiest months run roughly from February to August, which is the window most large programmes aim for. Late spring and early summer give long, warm days well suited to beach dinners and outdoor team activities.

The wetter months from around September to December bring heavier rain and the chance of storms along the central coast, so plan later-year dates with more indoor contingency and watch the forecast for outdoor set-pieces.

Expect large beachfront resorts with convention facilities, boutique hotels and heritage-style houses near Hội An for smaller groups, and plenty of character venues for a gala or a themed dinner. The surrounds give an agenda its texture: the Marble Mountains, the old town, and the broad beaches between the two centres.

Few retreat bases carry this much to see within an easy drive.
